Konad M63 - Orly Mirror Mirror / Barry M Grey

Hiya!!!

A few days ago I reviewed Orly's Mirror Mirror, it can be seen here.......today comes the konad!

I used 2 coats of Orly Mirror Mirror as the base, could have done with three but two was enough as a konad base.
I wanted the try the hounds-tooth pattern on plate M63 as it would suit grey very well. So I stamped over the top using Barry M Grey, which is a darker shade of grey than Mirror Mirror. It works really well giving a subtle and classy design, at least I think so ! LOL

What do you guys think?

Watch out next week for the start of my polish comparison posts.
I will be starting with greys to coincide with this post, then will be moving through the colour spectrum over the coming weeks.
So be sure to check back and have a peek at them.
I know I always look for polish swatches when buying new shades, mostly to see if I have something similar already, or to give me a better idea of the shade when compared to something I know. Really helps when buying online, so I thought these posts may help you too.

In the meantime, have a great weekend!

Orly polish - Mirror Mirror

Hello!!!!

Here we have a swatch for Orly's Mirror Mirror. It is a lighter grey creme, and makes a nice change to the mid greys out there.

This was one of the nicer Orlys to apply, it was much thinner and didn't drag as much as the previous ones I tried. It was streaky on the first coat and opaque on the second. It does show brush marks though so a third coat may have been better. I stuck with two coats though as I was going to konad this later on. Drying time was pretty good on this one, as some Orlys do dry slowly, this one was about normal. Picture shows two coats plus top coat.

I will be doing some nail polish comparison posts soon, starting with greys. This may help some people trying to find the right grey and wondering how they compare with others.......

I also bought a couple of older China Glaze polishes I found cheaply......

Konad M69 - Lace French

Hello Girls :o)

This was taken a week before I first tore my nail, at the time I had just filed them a few mm's shorter. I had a small split in the tip of one nail, the layers were peeling slightly, I guess from all my recent mani's :o(
So I decided to file it down and make the rest match. Sadly it means that a traditional French will not look so great till they grow back a bit......not to be outdone I thought this would be a good alternative. Sometimes I like the simple look on my nails, french's always looks clean and fresh.

Using the lace design on plate M69 I stamped the tip in konad white polish.

Simple, and fresh looking and a great way to do a french without ultra long nails !

Hi Girls,

Time for a haul post!

I bought some more OPI polishes recently, some classics and a few for french mani's, as I wanted something more natural as I have bought so many colours lately, time for a change!

Here we have OPI Done Out in Deco and You Don't Know Jacques

OPI polish - Princesses Rule!

I love this polish, it is so girly and cute!

It is a very sheer polish, suited to being used as a wash over other colours, but equally good worn alone. It is a real sugar pink with massive amount of teeny, tiny glitter type shimmer, it sparkles on the nail like crazy!

One coat looks lovely, lots of bling with a hint of colour. I found four coats gave a good colour with a bearable amount of nail line.

A very pretty polish this one and quite versatile if used over other colours, to accent a french, worn alone as a wash or layered for a more solid feel.
