Konad M73, M36 - Misa Dirty Sexy Money/No7 Totally Teal

This Konad was inspired by a challenge post on Polish Hoarder Disorder's blog.
She has decided to run a weekly mani challenge.  The first challenge she posted was to create a mani using at least two colours from her choice of green, red, teal and white.  We were asked to include glitter somewhere and to create it using a Vintage theme.  We send our mani pics to her and she posts the results on her blog for all to see.  No prizes or anything like that, but we all get to see what kind of creations everyone comes up with, using the same colours and theme, very interesting and loads of fun to do.

So here is my version........

Firstly I used Misa Dirty Sexy Money, (swatched and reviewed here), on all fingers except the ring finger, on this I used No7 Totally Teal.  I then stamped a design from plate M73.  I felt these muted colours and the pattern were perfect for a Vintage themed mani.
On the lighter Misa nails I used the darker No7, and on the dark No7 nail I used the lighter Misa.

I then stamped a butterfly from plate M36, using konad white and then used a top coat of CG Wireless holographic.  This gave a very subtle covering of tiny glitter that would not obscure the design too much.

I really enjoyed this challenge, and am looking forward to the next one, any I do will be posted here so you can all seem them :)

It's a Miracle - Polish at least!

I found this very strange polish while shopping in Boots.


Looks pretty boring huh?
It's from a No7 range called Miracle Nail Polish!
Now I am not sure about Miracles, but they are certainly something new to me and I had to get one just to try, besides I had a No7 £5 off voucher, what a great way to spend it!

They come in seven shades and appear to be your standard metallic polish, but.... and this is where it gets weird.......they change colour when you add a clear top coat!???
You can use any clear top coat you like, you don't need to buy a special one. So I grabbed one to try, feeling very sceptical.

You know what, it actually works, I have no idea how a clear top coat can change its colour, but it does, very odd. As you can see from the swatch, it shows brush strokes like crazy, but so do most metallics to be fair......

I got Miracle Chocolate shade, which is odd in itself as it is a gunmetal silver/grey, which turns a metallic pinky mauve, nothing chocolaty there!


Have you ever seen any like this? I haven't, not here in the UK anyway. Good for a bit of fun, and pretty nice shades too.

Konad M57 - Black/Red Goth

This was a simple one I did for my teenage Goth daughter today.
I say simple, but it took ages!!!! It is the first time I have done someone else's nails and it is hard! The angles are all wrong and it is so awkward to do........
Anyway, we used an unknown black polish for the base on all but her ring fingers, on those we used Boots No7 'Sunrise', a red. We then stamped the black nails with konad white and the fishnet design from plate M57, the red nail we stamped in black.
She likes the result, I do too, though we were both exhausted after I had to redo a number of nails, due to the stupid angle I was working at.
